Vitae

My greatest desire is to reach life’s and know that I left no potential on the table.  I live to outrun mediocrity—and the justifications we make to settle for it. I want to be a great designer, a great leader, a grateful husband, father, and servant.

I thrive on challenge. When results slip, I don’t repeat the past—I ask what must change.

I’ve collaborated with award-winning creative directors to refine my instincts—not to outsource creativity. Many can grind; few can teach. They made me better, and I believe I did the same for them.

That’s the value I bring: creative leadership that grows others.

Design starts with the idea. It must be surprising, shaped into something appropriate and elegant, and crafted to earn deep, resonant agreement from the audience. Visually striking is good. Strikingly meaningful is better.

Colin Corcoran – Award Winning Creative Director

Jason is different. Cut from a different cloth. He listens instead of lecturing during a briefing. He’s constantly learning new things from other creative disciplines, all of which he absorbs with both incredible speed and enthusiasm. And in an industry full of hotshots equally full of hubris, he is humble above all. An actual true servant leader in every sense of the word. Out of interacting with thousands of industry professionals, Jason is the first and only client I’ve worked for that I also completely trust to be my creative partner on a project. He’s a good designer, but more important, a really good dude.

Nate Schloesser – Director Of Design Education @ BP

Jason is top tier for sure. His depth of knowledge is second to none. I am constantly blown away at the amount of information that he keeps in his head. Jason doesn’t just know his stuff though. I have witnessed him innovate and bring new meaning to the design community by combining seemingly unconnected frameworks together. My time with him made me a better designer and better human.

Bill Gardner – Owner Gardner Design/Logo Lounge

Opportunities to work with clients that have a creative director with Jason Walker’s depth of knowledge are scarce and rewarding. Jason has a masterful understanding of communication graphics and brand marketing. He has developed a team of creatives that have been able to magnify the brand impact of CE because he has engaged them to consciously consider how every nuance of the brand interrelates. Our design and branding team looked forward to these conversations because they were consistently productive and were invaluable in keeping all parties moving toward common objectives.

Jerad Raines – Senior Product Designer @ Kroger

I have tremendous respect for Jason as a person, and as an expert Marketing designer and leader. Everything that Jason does, or says, has been considered from multiple angles to be accurate, concise, and pertinent. He’s also a gifted teacher, with a passion for sharing his knowledge with others and building up everyone’s strengths. I’m thankful to have worked with him, and learned from him. I’d recommend anyone to jump at the opportunity to do the same.

Mike Wittenstein – Founder Storyminers

Jason doesn’t just bring ideas to life visually, he listens extremely well. That’s an important gift because most of his clients have to paint pictures with words (then he can translate them). It’s a pleasure to work with someone who ‘gets’ me so quickly and effortlessly. He did his homework, put in all the needed effort, and really made my software storyboard experience come to life.

Garry McKee – Senior UX Designer @ Tektonux

Jason has worked with me, for me, and I for him over the years. In every capacity he is impressive. Not a little impressive but monumentally impressive. He possesses the single greatest skill necessary in any discipline at all levels- the ability to learn. He does so rapidly and thoroughly. Furthermore, he is then able to explain what he has learned and teach it to others. I’ve been the grateful recipient of his knowledge and watched as he has given it graciously to others. This depth of understanding that he is able to tap into time and time again throughout his career is evident in his portfolio and his resume.

Sean Platt – Motion Designer & Former Employee

I had the privilege of working under Jason as a motion designer at Covenant Eyes. Jason’s desire to help those under him succeed, coupled with his ability to lead as a creative visionary for branding, made him an excellent creative director. Jason is dedicated to excellence; exhibiting a continual pursuit to learn rather than settle for status quo while also fostering other’s awareness of the “why” behind their own design reasoning. An extremely gifted illustrator in his own right, Jason encouraged and supported creatives under him at their craft. And he was equally successful at guiding management in brand strategy. I would highly recommend Jason as a creative director or in any other creative lead role.
