Strategic marketing, brand and growth leadership for organizations that create genuine value.
How the point of view formed across many companies, not one.
I did not set out to study organizations. I set out to do good work, inside companies whose decisions carried weight. But after enough brands, enough launches and enough leadership teams, the same situations kept appearing. Different industries. Different people. Each convinced their own case was the exception.
Nearly three decades of strategy, creative direction and team leadership slowly became something closer to pattern recognition. The work stopped being only about what to make and became about what keeps happening, and why. What follows is that perspective, and the evidence underneath it.
Six outcomes that turned the patterns into evidence.
The figures matter, but they are not the point. Each result below is the resolution of a recurring problem: drift, fragmentation, misalignment, a great idea that could have been compromised away.
Identity-driven campaign that exceeded lead-gen targets by 3×, drove ~180 new accounts from a single email and produced a 6,000+ attendee activation at TPUSA, shifting the company's conference strategy for the first time in decades.
Designed and shipped the 5 Stones church-channel program. Over 20,000 kits distributed nationally and internationally. The company's first and only viable pathway for product awareness within churches.
Repositioned Covenant Eyes from a single product-centered identity to a structure separating institutional authority from market-facing brands, the architectural move that enabled Victory's launch and laid the foundation for future growth.
Organized and led a strategic onsite with CEO, product and marketing leadership that resolved long-standing disagreement on positioning and cleared the way for brand and product development.
Represented brand in the company's first $1.2M agency engagement, partnering closely on creative and message development. Outcome: highest-impact campaign in company history at 18× the engagement of the previous best effort.
Built a brand voice framework integrated with AI tooling that let writers across the organization align quickly to brand standards, improving clarity, consistency and speed of execution at scale.
The recurring situations that shaped the strategic lens.
A handful of observations surfaced again and again, regardless of industry, team or era. They are not frameworks and not a method. They are simply the recurring patterns that shaped how I work.
Two engagements, Radiant Mobile and Covenant Eyes, in depth.
What follows is not a list of accomplishments. It is a record of the same recurring problems, met inside real organizations, under real constraints, and what it took to resolve them.
Radiant Mobile, America's first Christian mobile wireless service, combines nationwide coverage with network-level content controls and intentional technology tools that help families build healthier digital habits. It is growing quickly, and strategy, brand, operations and customer experience are beginning to pull in slightly different directions.
I treated marketing strategy, brand positioning, marketing operations, growth infrastructure and customer experience as one connected function rather than a set of campaigns, and built the system that kept them pointing the same way.
The full arc of roles beneath the perspective.
By now the perspective should be clear. This is the chronology underneath it: the roles where the patterns were observed and the judgment was earned, in order.
Education, credentials and a continuous-learning practice, read as one operating principle. Open only what you want to see.
Learning is not a line on the résumé. It is how the work stays current: a discipline practiced continuously and shown here as evidence rather than assertion. Each subsection answers a different question. Open only the ones you care about.
Why does learning matter?
Leadership is learned, not inherited.
Across every role I have invested deliberately in education: strategy, branding, psychology, leadership, innovation, communication and organizational behavior. Learning is part of the work itself, not preparation for it.
Technologies and markets change constantly. What compounds over a career is curiosity, and the strongest teams are built around learning agility rather than fixed expertise. I try to model that in my own work.
What formal education shaped this work?
What recognized credentials support it?
How is learning practiced today?
What subjects have been intentionally developed?
What evidence supports these claims?
Coursework and self-directed study, grouped by discipline. The catalog grows over time. Lately the focus has been AI, leadership and brand systems.
Executive leadership, decision-making, team development, coaching and management systems.
Presentation, storytelling, persuasion and executive presence.
Positioning, brand architecture, growth, go-to-market and marketing operations.
Design systems, art direction, typography and visual craft.
Innovation methods, systems thinking and problem framing.
Organizational behavior, motivation and decision science.
Applied AI and AI-assisted creative, writing and marketing workflows.
Who and what shaped the thinking?
In preparation. A forthcoming library of the authors, books and intellectual influences behind the work, organized by reading category. Reserved here so it can be added later without disturbing the surrounding architecture.
The psychology and working profile behind the thinking.
These assessments are not credentials. They are included because this is an argument about judgment, and judgment has a shape. Across four independent instruments the same profile appears: strategic, deliberative and innovation-led, operating from a long view with a strong preference for clarity, quality and challenge tied to a purpose. It is the same disposition that keeps noticing patterns and cannot leave incoherence alone.
Where this way of seeing began.
The first design job was a sign shop in September 1997. A stack of illustration boards, a willingness to be useful and a generation of mentors who took a chance. Every job between then and Covenant Eyes (agency, newspaper, freelance, classroom, defense, broadcast illustration) added a discipline, a tool or a lesson the later work required. The habit of paying attention started here, long before there was a word for it.
Creative Director · VP Marketing · Director of Marketing · Head of Brand. Roles where strategy, brand and design are treated as one discipline, not three departments.
